The War Report made Capone-N-Noreaga's name overnight in 1997. Then Capone was sentenced to prison, shortly before the album even released, and Queens had to wait three real years for a real follow-up.
The Reunion finally arrived in 2000, and it plays exactly like two artists finding their way back to each other. DJ Premier laces the album's centerpiece. The Alchemist builds a real Foxy Brown feature into something brooding and over the top. Nas shows up. Havoc produces. This is New York rap's actual architects surrounding two guys who'd earned the right to call in favors, and it's finally in stock.
From the Crate
"Sometimes a reunion doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be real."
